Kara is a dynamic physiotherapist who has been working with both musculoskeletal conditions and sports injuries in children and adults since 2003.
She qualified from Brunel University with a 1st class honors degree and since then has worked in both the NHS and the private sector.
She started her career at a large London hospital before moving down to the South West and working at Salisbury Hospital, becoming a Team Leader at Warminster Hospital and then for Somerset Partnership as a paediatric physiotherapist with a special interest in orthopaedics and musculoskeletal pain, running joint Consultant Paediatric Orthopaedic Clinics at Yeovil Hospital.
Pain in children and adolescents
Kara's has extensive experience in treating children with pain including conditions such as hypermobility, joint and muscle injuries and pain, musculoskeletal pain in neurological conditions (such as pain in children with Cerebral Palsy) and gait abnormalities such as toe walking and in toeing gait. She regularly treats children with muscle and joint pain and has worked at Millfield School and is currently the physiotherapist at King's School Bruton.
Kara’s extensive experience in musculoskeletal physiotherapy, coupled with her experience as a paediatric physio within the NHS, has given her a wealth of experience to be able to work with children following SDR surgery. As muscle training, increasing exercise tolerance and stamina as part of functional and day to day physical activity is key, her background in sports rehab and exercise prescription enables her to provide a varied and interesting therapy programme, to ensure that your child remains engaged and enjoys his physiotherapy.
